But not the same can be said for other arm socs. You can see that rpi doesn't support cryto and has to do it all on the soc/software. Those are exactly the simple easy tasks best left for the arm which also support aes crypto like the rk3328 or s905x3.Ĭheck out the 256 aes scores on some socs You can make it your newsgroup downloadeder and your pi-hole, VPN etc So think about it if you want lowest power and are on a tight budget The major difference between the 2 tho is rpi4 has a huge community while s905x3? Not so much but Its coreelec is however tops and well supported and that distro lets me run all the dockers most want. But it genuinely only offers 1 usb 3 and the rpi 4 is 2. The s905x3 can do that stuff as well at even lower power as its an 12nm a55 soc and the psu s included for as low as 55 cad. Thats always the cheaper route when purchasing an rpi. The case and sd card at amazon.ca freeshipping. So for example you buy the rpi and the psu together and pay the flat fee for shipping(11 bucks) at the usual suspects like buypi.ca etc. So its rarely cheaper to buy all in one rpi4 packages. Only the rpi foundation can offer any discount and that never happens. Its a flat fee of 35 usd for the 2gb version. Awesome price for what it can do tho.But there is no true deals for rpi4. So its usually around 85 bucks tallied up for an rpi 4 2gb setup without sd card.
RASPBERRY PI SABNZBD PLUS
So the rpi 2gb should be around 44 bucks cad, psu only get a genuine rpi rated and thats atleast 10-12 bucks, case with decent cooling is another 20 plus 11 bucks shipping and your gonna need a sd card. Ran just fine and each can still be used to watch local files simulatenously and doesn't need to be headless.

I run a jellyfin server off it and a s905x3 for atleast a year both. The rpi4 is almost overkill for docker stuff and running headless but honestly you can use it for plex too it will run no problem plus your sabzbd+/sonarr/radarr/plex and pihole etc in docker. if you wait a month there should be s905x4 out with av1 support too. But it would only be 100mb lan vs a decent s905x3 with gigabit. Its also a Very good media player often regarded as the best bang for buck option.īut you can also do it with just a s905w tvbox too if all you need is headless newsgroups and pihole etc and those can be found at amazon.ca for as low as under 40.

Around 55 cad shipped from aliexpress and the playback on local files equals the shield. I will use a monitor to get it going if need be, but ongoing it would be headless and modified over VNC.Īny links to a good deal capable of this would be awesome.Īn even lower bang for buck than the rpi 4 maybe look at an s905x3 4gb tvbox and you can run it all including your plex or jellyfin too off its usb 3.0 port in docker running coreelec. Ideally I don't want to buy separate components and would prefer something I can buy, plug in to power and my network and be off to the races. I could use a link to a good deal for a complete Raspberry Pi that would meet my needs.
RASPBERRY PI SABNZBD PRO
I'm going to shift over to an Nvidia Shield Pro as the Plex server and just need to move the download software to something else so I assume Raspberry Pi is the way to go on that end. Currently it is a server running sabzbd+/sonarr/radarr/plex.
RASPBERRY PI SABNZBD PC
I'm not super familiar with Raspyberry Pi as I have never actually used one before, however I am eager to ditch my media PC as I know I'm wasting a lot of hydro running it.
